General Operator

About the role

CEL Critical Power is looking for a General Operator to join its expanding team in Williamsburg, Virginia. This role is crucial for the production of switchgear panels and involves adhering to high-quality and environmental health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow Company's Quality Control, Environmental, Health and Safety Procedures
• Aid in building switchgear panels using schematic, mechanical, and general assembly drawings
• Prepare switchgear components, such as cable stripping and label printing
• Assemble mechanical components like copper assemblies
• Complete assembly of electrical sub-assemblies, including wire harnesses and panel plates
• Install panel door assemblies
• Support the wrapping and preparation of finished products for shipment
• Lift, carry, and move materials and components up to 50 lbs. safely and efficiently
• Stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Help in other departments as needed
• Maintain area housekeeping standards
• Store waste materials in a safe and efficient manner before collection
• Perform other duties as requested by Production Supervisor

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong EHS and housekeeping awareness
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Well-organized, self-motivated, and able to multi-task
• Previous experience using hand tools
• Good aptitude for mechanical assembly
• Comfortable with physical activities, including standing, bending, and lifting
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
• Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail
