Work Tasks

  • Planting, cultivating, irrigating, and harvesting crops including potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and grains.
  • Drive and operate farm equipment used in agricultural production such as tractors and combines.
  • Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, and drills to tractors and drive tractors in field to till soil, plant, and spray crops.
  • Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery.
  • Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions.
  • Drive trucks to haul crops and seed, from fields to storage buildings on farm.

Job Requirements

  • Certification/License Requirements: Driver Requirements - 3 months of previous work experience.
  • Willingness to commit to the entire contract period.
  • Meet All Qualifications Of The Clearance Order.
  • Be able, willing and qualified to perform the work.
  • Able to work in extreme temperature.
  • Willing to lift 60 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Willing to make repetitive movements.
  • Extensive pushing and pulling.
  • Extensive walking and stooping.
  • Anticipate being available to work on the start date and through the period of the contract.
  • Able to perform all duties within this job description in a safe manner adhering to all established orchard safety guidelines, practices and procedures.
  • Must wear all required and assigned personal protective equipment at all times when required to do so.
  • Worker must wear proper clothing and footwear depending on the season.
  • All footwear must be closed-toed and durable due to safety precautions.
