Work Tasks
- Planting, cultivating, irrigating, and harvesting crops including potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and grains.
- Drive and operate farm equipment used in agricultural production such as tractors and combines.
- Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, and drills to tractors and drive tractors in field to till soil, plant, and spray crops.
- Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery.
- Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions.
- Drive trucks to haul crops and seed, from fields to storage buildings on farm.
Job Requirements
- Certification/License Requirements: Driver Requirements - 3 months of previous work experience.
- Willingness to commit to the entire contract period.
- Meet All Qualifications Of The Clearance Order.
- Be able, willing and qualified to perform the work.
- Able to work in extreme temperature.
- Willing to lift 60 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day.
- Willing to make repetitive movements.
- Extensive pushing and pulling.
- Extensive walking and stooping.
- Anticipate being available to work on the start date and through the period of the contract.
- Able to perform all duties within this job description in a safe manner adhering to all established orchard safety guidelines, practices and procedures.
- Must wear all required and assigned personal protective equipment at all times when required to do so.
- Worker must wear proper clothing and footwear depending on the season.
- All footwear must be closed-toed and durable due to safety precautions.
