Agricultural Equipment Operator

About the role

Packing feed corn and other feed blends, running 100 HP tractors and tractor-drawn machinery, operating farm vehicles including trucks and forklifts, hauling raw sap to processing facilities, installing and repairing tree taps, and maintaining equipment are some of the key responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve corn from storage bins/silos using tractor and grain cart then bring product to the bagging facility.
• Load tractor trailers with grains per orders using PTO/electric augers.
• Mix harvested grains according to criteria for multiple feed types.
• Use skid steer to mix blends.
• Bag different mixes using bagging equipment according to type and weight.
• Monitor stitching machine for proper tension and sealing.
• Palletize bagged grain by type and move from bagging area by forklift to warehouse and final point of sale location on the farm.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and feeds as necessary.
• Install, replace, or repair maple lines, haul raw sap to processing facility, and repair and maintain syrup making implements.
• Pull taps as needed at season's conclusion and clean taps and other equipment for storage.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 months experience in agricultural settings performing tasks described in this order.
• Driver requirements: Possess or be able to obtain a Class D drivers license.
• Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures, repetitive movements, extensive pushing/pulling, frequent stooping/bending, and extensive walking.
