About the role

Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer's fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, or bank on an as-needed basis).

Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities.

Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, spray and/or harvest apples.

Attach farm implements to tractors and drive tractors in fields to prepare soil, plant, fertilize, mow, spray and/or harvest crops.

Drive tractor or truck to transport materials, supplies and products.

Make adjustments and minor repairs to machinery.

Mix chemicals ingredients and spray fruit trees to control insects, fungus, weeds, or diseases.

Remove excess growth using pruning saws and clippers.

Irrigate soil.

Pick fruit during harvest.

Thin blossoms and immature fruit.

Prop limbs to prevent breakage.

Operate frost protection equipment.

Must be physically able to lift up to 75lbs on a consistent basis throughout the day.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 months verifiable experience necessary in the aforementioned.
  • Driving Requirements.
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Employer may conduct random drug tests at employer’s expense after hiring.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Repetitive movements, extensive walking and frequent stooping.

Qualifications

  • Proficient English language skills.
  • Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Knowledge of farm machinery and operations.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and handle hazardous materials.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
