About the role

The Agile Transformation Coach role focuses on shaping, leading, and scaling Lean-Agile and SAFe adoption across the company. The ideal candidate brings deep experience building Agile product organizations, creating and standardizing methodologies, and leading organizational change.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead the product-centric operating model, integrating SAFe practices with product management, customer value, and outcome-based governance.

  • Drive the enterprise transition from projects to products/value streams, aligning organizational structure, funding models, and roadmaps with strategic goals.

  • Establish transformation objectives, measures, and guardrails that connect product strategy, portfolio priorities, and delivery flow.

  • Coach executives, business leaders, and technology leaders on Lean-Agile leadership, servant leadership, and decision-making that unlocks flow and autonomy.

  • Mentor ART leadership (RTEs, Product Managers, System Architects, Agile Managers), Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and teams to raise maturity and delivery performance.

  • Facilitate executive workshops, ART ceremonies (e.g., PI Planning, ART Sync, Inspect & Adapt), and team practices that improve predictability and customer outcomes.

  • Create, refine, and socialize Agile and product practices (e.g., intake, product roadmaps, discovery/backlog practices, flow metrics, OKRs) that standardize and accelerate adoption.

  • Build Communities of Practice and knowledge-management mechanisms to sustain learning, reuse patterns, and improve consistency.

  • Guide the organization through the SAFe Implementation Roadmap, partnering with the Lean-Agile Center of Excellence (LACE) to conduct training, coaching, and enablement.

  • Lead enterprise change management—addressing cultural resistance, clarifying roles, and aligning incentives—to institutionalize new ways of working.

  • Develop communication strategies and stakeholder engagement plans that reinforce desired behaviors and accelerate adoption.

  • Implement Lean Portfolio Management practices (Strategy & Investment Funding, Agile Portfolio Operations, and Lean Governance) to maintain alignment from strategy to delivery.

  • Facilitate portfolio and value-stream planning cadences; connect epics, features, and objectives to measurable outcomes; and ensure capacity allocation reflects strategic priorities.

  • Define and operationalize flow-based metrics (e.g., Flow Time, Flow Predictability, WIP, etc.) to improve decision-making and performance.

  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, DevOps/Platform, and Security to align architecture runway, CI/CD, automation, and built-in quality with product delivery needs.

  • Promote modern Agile tooling and transparency (ADO) and enable value stream mapping and continuous improvement across the pipeline.

  • Enable distributed Agile delivery across regions/time zones; standardize remote ceremony practices; and ensure governance scales globally without impeding flow.

  • Establish clear escalation paths, risk management routines, and dependency coordination across products and value streams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC) certification (minimum requirement).

  • Prosci or equivalent Organizational Change Management certification preferred.

  • Certified ScrumMaster/Agile Coach certifications (e.g., CSM, ICP-ACC) and Lean/Six Sigma are a plus.

  • 10+ years leading Agile product organizations and transformations; proven success coaching executives, portfolios, ARTs, and teams.

  • 5+ years implementing SAFe across portfolios/value streams; hands-on with PI Planning, ART operations, and Inspect & Adapt.

  • Expertise in Lean Portfolio Management and outcome-based governance; ability to connect investments to measurable customer value.

  • Experience creating standards, building CoPs, and institutionalizing practices through LACE and training programs.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD, automation, Agile tooling (Azure DevOps, Jira), and flow metrics.

  • Success in global, distributed environments and complex, multi-team delivery.
