About the role
This is an opportunity with a well-established $800 million community bank located in a small, tight-knit rural market about an hour west of St. Joseph, Missouri. The bank is looking to add an ag lender who enjoys being part of the community and has a strong interest in business development. This individual will step into a very small existing portfolio with the expectation of building and growing it over time. The lending focus is primary agricultural and small business banking. Typical size deals are $250,000 to $2 million, including row crop and cow-calf operations. It's a strong farming area and a great opportunity for someone who wants to establish themselves and grow alongside a stable, community-focused bank.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a small existing portfolio of agricultural and small business loans
- Underwrite and approve loans up to $2 million
- Build and maintain relationships with local farmers and businesses
- Develop and implement strategies to increase loan volume and profitability
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and meet regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial or ag lending
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Qualifications
- Knowledge of agricultural practices and market trends
- Understanding of federal and state regulations governing lending activities
- Experience with loan underwriting and credit analysis
Skills
