Job Title: Afterschool Youth Leader - Part-Time Wage/Hour Status: Part Time | $25/hr Days: 187 / At Will Reports To: Destiny Lead & Destiny Admin Schools Hiring: Jubilee Harlingen, Jubilee Leadership, Jubilee Brownsville, Jubilee Livingway, Jubilee Kingsville, Jubilee San Antonio, Jubilee Westwood, Jubilee Highland Hills, Jubilee Lakeview Univ. Prep Length of Term: End of school year Funding Source: 420 Primary Purpose Provide support to the Destiny Lead in accordance with activities for the Destiny program. Qualifications Minimum HS diploma or GEDBilingual Spanish (preferred) Special Knowledge/skills Basic computer and software knowledgeAbility to instruct students and manage their behaviorExcellent communication, organizational and time management skillsAbility to work in a team setting with a positive attitudeAbility to oversee and supervise various educational and recreational projectsAbility to read instructions and implement activities Experience Experience working with at risk youth (preferred)Experience working in a non-profit organization (preferred) Major Responsibilities And Duties Coordinate, plan and implement with the Destiny Lead regarding educational and enrichment activities with program partners for all Destiny activitiesCommunicate with the Destiny Lead regarding specific Destiny Afterschool program operations/needs.Ensure upkeep of Destiny program property and equipment. Maintain a working knowledge of how to utilize all afterschool property and equipment.Work closely with Destiny Lead to retain organized and accurate records and assist in record maintenance as instructed.Attend required meetings, training and other events as instructed.Implement safety and discipline guidelinesMaintain a working knowledge of Jubilee Academies policies and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned. Equipment Used Recreational and sports equipment, copier, personal computer, audiovisual equipment, instructional materials, interactive TVs, projectors. Working Conditions Work indoors and outdoors. Constant contact with students, parents and staff. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Maintain emotional control under stress.Ability to think clearly in stressful situations and a high stress tolerance required, high physical stamina necessary and extended amount of walking necessary.Travel between campus assignments; occasional district wide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours. Use of computers and related equipment. Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.
