AFTERSCHOOL/DAY CAMP YOUTH COUNSELOR

Responsibilities

• Aid in the daily operations of the camp program
• Assist in the preparation of activity areas
• Implement camp activities
• Maintain materials, equipment, and building
• Show imagination and resourcefulness in working with camp staff and children
• Attend camp staff meetings
• Report injuries to the Camp Supervisor
• Aid Camp Supervisor in scheduling activities
• Maintain a safe work environment
• Keep facilities clean
• Resolve minor differences between children
• Report serious discipline problems to the Camp Supervisor
• Keep equipment in a safe and operational condition

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in programming and supervising activities for children ages 5 – 12 or any equivalent combination of education and experience
