Counselor - Day Camp Youth
About the role
We are seeking a Summer Camp Counselor to positively impact the summer camp community and help children reach their potential.
Responsibilities
- Supervise campers and activity implementation.
- Ensure all campers can participate in all activities, no matter varied abilities whether physical, or intellectual.
- Actively participate in activities to encourage participation.
- Ensure appropriate behavior of campers and staff to avoid the risk of accidents.
- Auxiliary in maintaining effective communication with parents/guardians regarding camper and camp activities.
- Embody the GPY commitment to diversity and inclusion, no matter race, color, creed, or gender identification.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- High school graduate or equivalent, or enrolled in a minimum of 2 years of child development coursework approved by state licensing requirements
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and experience working with children
