AFTERSCHOOL / DAY CAMP SUPERVISOR

Examples of Duties

• Open facility for daily operation
• Manage clerical duties for the program
• Maintain and operate supply storage room
• Recommend supplies for camp
• Close and secure all camp materials, supplies, and operational equipment
• Report any damage to Program Coordinator or Assistant Camp Director
• Affiliate with activities for children
• Create schedule for day camp staff
• Maintain a safe work area
• Inspect all playground equipment to avoid injury
• Act as a go between for parents and the department
• Keep facilities clean
• Affiliate with training camp counselors
• Affiliate with verbal or written reprimands for misbehavior
• Maintain harmony among workers and assist in settling any grievances
• Affiliate with planning and organization of all special events and field trips
• Demonstrate imagination and resourcefulness in working with camp staff and children
• Maintain child attendance at the sign in area
• Affiliate with homework in afterschool program

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or GED is required
• Supplemented by experience in programming and supervising activities for children ages 5 – 12 or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
