Examples of Duties
- Open facility for daily operation
- Manage clerical duties for the program
- Maintain and operate supply storage room
- Recommend supplies for camp
- Close and secure all camp materials, supplies, and operational equipment
- Report any damage to Program Coordinator or Assistant Camp Director
- Affiliate with activities for children
- Create schedule for day camp staff
- Maintain a safe work area
- Inspect all playground equipment to avoid injury
- Act as a go between for parents and the department
- Keep facilities clean
- Affiliate with training camp counselors
- Affiliate with verbal or written reprimands for misbehavior
- Maintain harmony among workers and assist in settling any grievances
- Affiliate with planning and organization of all special events and field trips
- Demonstrate imagination and resourcefulness in working with camp staff and children
- Maintain child attendance at the sign in area
- Affiliate with homework in afterschool program
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Supplemented by experience in programming and supervising activities for children ages 5 – 12 or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

- Nurturing, organized, creative and resourceful
- Be able to effectively communicate with young children, parents, and staff, and be a role model for children
- Possess the knowledge and skill to apply basic youth development principles in working with campers through communication, relationship development, respect for diversity, involvement, and empowerment of youth
