After School Program Instructor

About the Role

Join our After School Enrichment Team to provide fun and safe activities for kids during after-school hours. This is a part-time position with flexible working hours (up to 29 hours per week) based on your availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment for learning
• Implement curriculum for a variety of enrichment classes
• Establish good rapport with parents and participants
• Be a positive role model for youth in the program
• Collaborate with volunteers to lead delegation
• Transport equipment to and from school sites

Requirements

• Must pass YMCA background check
• Availability Monday–Thursday between 2:30–5:30 PM
• Possess (or obtain within 90 days) a current CPR/AED & First Aid Certification
• Experience working with children in a classroom setting
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation
• Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate management techniques
• Must have reliable transportation

Pay

Minimum wage starting at $17.50 per hour, depending on experience.
