After School Program Director - Twinbrook Community Recreation Center

Essential Job Functions

• Planning/implementation of afterschool program’s daily operations
• Planning/implementation of monthly student service learning (SSL) events
• Supervising afterschool staff and volunteers
• Creating fun, engaging, and safe environment for middle school aged children
• Maintaining clean and organized site
• Fostering clear communication with staff, parents, and center supervisors
• Supervising children responsibly, following disciplinary procedures and enforcing rules in a positive and supporting manner
• Maintaining accurate attendance and snack sheet records
• Driving in city van to local middle school for student pick up

Qualifications

• Valid Maryland driver’s license required
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred
• Fluent in English and Spanish preferred
• Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising children and staff in recreation activities or related field
• Completion of child development program preferred
• Educational courses equivalent to two years of college or equal amount of supervisory experience with children and at least 21 years of age

Schedule

Afterschool Director’s schedule is 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm on days that MCPS is in session and 12:30 pm – 6:30 pm on MCPS early release days.
