Child Development staff work with children up to 5 years of age, focusing on social, emotional, cognitive, and motor development while integrating life skills into daily activities and lessons. About the role

Early Childhood Education After School Group Leads ensure the safety and supervision of school-age students while creating an exciting recreational, educational, and social schedule for campers to enjoy each day.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a child’s physical, emotional, and educational needs are met through visual supervision, one-on-one interactions, regular communication with parents and caregivers, and collaboration with support agencies to devise individual education plans for children with special needs.
  • Write and implement daily/weekly plans for children in the classroom.
  • Maintain current, organized, and properly filed classroom records and documentation.
  • Uphold licensing, safety, and sanitation standards in the classroom through communication with administrative staff.
  • Provide leadership by acting as a positive role model for assistant group leaders and fostering a professional climate for daily classroom operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • At least one year of experience in a licensed school-age program or camp setting is preferred.
