After School Group Leader /Early Learning Professional

Location: Penn Hills Township Elementary School, 1079 Jefferson Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15235

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, PM shift: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Pay

$17.00 per hour

About the role

AlphaBEST Education provides extended day, summer, and enrichment programs designed to inspire and engage students while they discover and learn beyond the school day in a fun, safe environment. As an AlphaBEST Group Leader, you'll help shape meaningful after-school moments that help kids learn, grow, and thrive.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily curriculum activities (World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts) while encouraging positive peer interactions
• Make child safety the top priority at all times and follow procedures closely
• Keep the space clean and organized
• Help create an environment where kids feel supported and included
• Build strong relationships with teammates, kids, families, and school staff

Requirements

A Group Leader shall have attained one of the following qualifications:

• A CDA or an associate's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children
• An associate's degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children
• CPR and First Aid certification required
• Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting (up to 25 pounds)
