The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. Group W specializes in wargaming, warfare modeling and simulation, software development, data analytics, and operations research/system analysis to address national security challenges. We embrace the research paradigm, improving tools, data, and methods to generate credible insights for the Department’s most complex issues, including CONOPs, acquisitions, force structures, tactics, and strategies.

Group W develops and maintains the Synthetic Theater Operations Research Model (STORM), the authoritative M&S tool for theater-level, multi-domain, joint warfare analysis, and the Standard Wargame Integration and Facilitation Tool (SWIFT) for joint force combatants’ wargaming requirements.

About the role

We have an immediate need for an AFSIM M&S Analyst to provide onsite support in Arlington, VA. The Analyst will employ modeling and operations research techniques to inform analyses and wargames using AFSIM, solving complex problems through statistical analysis, computer modeling, simulation, and regression analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute analytical models and methods supporting warfighting analyses at the engagement level.
• Create and execute mission-level representations and analyses of U.S., allied, and adversary forces executing warfighting concepts of operation.
• Advise operations research analysts, scientists, and engineers on techniques best suited for tasked problems.
• Apply study planning and execution skills in collaborative environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of total experience.
• 3+ years of AFSIM experience OR 1+ years of general M&S experience and 6+ years of military operations planning.
• Strong desire to expand modeling/simulation expertise in AFSIM.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Able to work fully onsite based on client needs.

Qualifications (Desired)

• Master’s degree.
• Expertise in R Studio and Python.

Pay

Salary range: USD $140,000.00/Yr. – USD $180,000.00/Yr.
