About the Role
The Affordable Leasing Agent will be responsible for facilitating the apartment leasing process at the 796-unit New Columbia Apartments community, which includes playgrounds, community gardens, and a village market. This role involves conducting property tours, processing resident applications, responding to resident questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner, and completing weekly or monthly reports on leasing activity and occupancy. Additionally, the agent will support community-building efforts to foster a safe, inclusive environment and verify eligibility based on program guidelines like LIHTC, PHB, and RAD.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the apartment leasing process.
- Conduct property tours for prospective residents.
- Process resident applications and verify eligibility based on program guidelines (LIHTC, PHB, RAD).
- Respond to resident questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Complete weekly or monthly reports on leasing activity and occupancy.
- Support community-building efforts and help foster a safe, inclusive environment.
Requirements
- One (1) year of previous customer service experience (required).
- Previous affordable property management experience (preferred).
- Basic experience with MS365 including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to effectively deal with a diverse population in a professional, constructive, and productive manner.
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate details of multiple projects or tasks.
- Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, self-motivated, and high energy.
- Awareness and ability to adhere to all landlord/tenant laws, State and Federal Labor Laws, Fair Housing, and safety protocols.
- High School degree or equivalent.
- A current valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance.
Pay
Hourly Rate: $21.00-$23.00/hr.
Schedule
Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM (40 hours per week).
