SLK Nurse Internship
Duties
- Assisting the clinician or employee to which you are assigned.
- Opening both Zenoti app on iPad AND web version in Safari or Chrome.
- Reading patient notes and assessing needs for the day.
- Managing patient flow and clinic schedule in a punctual manner.
- Liaison between reception and clinicians.
- Rooming patients.
- Ensuring patients are prepped and ready for clinicians.
- Ensuring all paperwork is complete and up-to-date.
- Learning and studying consent forms.
- Obtaining informed consent from patients for procedures.
- Recording changes in health in EMR.
- Taking professional quality patient photos.
- Providing education before procedure and post-procedure.
- Providing education over the phone.
- Social media, photography, videography, editing.
- Performing opening and/or closing procedures in the clinic daily.
- Learning how to care for equipment.
- Warming up medical equipment.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
- Preening rooms and cleaning fields for procedures.
- Taking down rooms after the procedure is over.
- Aiding during procedures – holding pressure with gauze, cleaning up of patient skin, applying ice, moving equipment, runner for supplies into rooms.
- Charting and scribing.
- Providing patient pain control and comfort patients.
- Applying topical anesthetic and administering any necessary pain control techniques.
- Eccchymosis and hemostasis management.
- Cleansing skin before the procedure.
- Cleaning up of patients after the procedure.
- Providing patient teaching.
- Administering pre-care and after-care instructions to patients.
- Printing pre-care and after-care instructions and distributing them to the patient rooms.
- Stocking/inventory/receiving packages.
- Organizing the rooms and other medical storage areas.
- Equipment setup and inputting equipment settings as requested by clinicians.
- Inputting LHR settings.
- Phlebotomy as requested by the clinicians.
- Becoming familiar with aesthetic treatment protocols.
- Observing and shadowing a wide variety of procedures.
- Attending treatment or product trainings when available.
- (Optional) Completing “Daily Clinician Checklist” daily.
- Participating with social media efforts.
- Create posts and contribute ideas for posts.
- After 3 months: Prepping botulinum toxin.
Hours/Schedule
10-16 hours/week
