Surgical Coordinator About US EYE: US Eye is a physician-led, patient-centric network of eye care practices. We provide exceptional patient service through premium technology and expert care. Albemarle Eye Center, part of US Eye, offers a range of services including LASIK, cataract removal, and oculoplastics.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a customized, concierge level of customer service for surgical patients.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures, lens options, and pricing based on physician recommendations.
- Work with the financial team to obtain insurance authorizations and collect patient financial responsibilities.
- Absorb and communicate any insurance or scheduling updates to patients.
- Schedule all ASC surgeries, preoperative, and post-operative appointments according to physician protocols.
- Coordinate all financial and scheduling paperwork prior to surgery.

- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of material, methods, instruments, and equipment.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and manage time effectively.
- Must be able to work under pressure and respond positively to patient requests.
- Associate’s degree preferred.

Travel
This is a full-time position requiring travel between AEC locations: Elizabeth City, Kinston, Kitty Hawk, and Washington.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Prior experience in customer service.
- Must be able to work under pressure and respond to patient requests in a positive manner.
- Associate’s degree preferred.
