About the role

As a trusted advisor, you will proactively solicit feedback on advertising needs, products, and features, ensuring it reaches the right internal stakeholders to understand market needs and client expectations. You will build and maintain a network of internal and external partners to drive opportunities and influence impact for clients, serving as their primary point of contact for day-to-day inquiries. By seeking client feedback, you will identify satisfaction drivers, address dissatisfaction, determine root causes, and remove blockers. You will articulate Microsoft’s strategy and educate clients on the Microsoft Advertising platform while adopting Microsoft sales strategies and leveraging CRM tools.

Responsibilities

  • Account Planning/Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day client inquiries, addressing account monitoring needs such as prioritization, escalations, billing, revenue flow, budget changes, and security concerns.
    • Proactively solicit feedback on advertising needs, products, and features, ensuring it reaches internal stakeholders to drive solutions.
    • Build and maintain a network of internal and external partners to drive opportunities and influence client impact.
    • Collaborate with partners to develop client plans supporting Microsoft’s business and client needs.
  • Client Engagement:
    • Research clients’ advertising needs (e.g., KPIs) to understand competition and market trends, identifying optimization and new solution opportunities.
    • Present tailored solutions based on client insights and adopt Microsoft sales strategies (e.g., Challenger Sale) to secure buy-in.
    • Build and maintain relationships with client contacts at multiple levels as a trusted advisor.
  • Industry Knowledge:
    • Maintain knowledge of emerging industry trends, technology, and KPIs, sharing expertise as a subject matter expert.
    • Stay updated on security policies and best practices, integrating them into product and service offerings.
  • Sales Focus:
    • Adopt Microsoft sales strategies to handle client objections and sell tailored solutions, aligning with Microsoft’s security practices.
    • Collaborate with internal partners to identify upselling opportunities and accelerate deal closures through value-proposition presentations.
    • Seek client feedback to identify satisfaction drivers, address dissatisfaction, and establish recovery action plans.
    • Leverage CRM tools (e.g., account management, performance dashboards) to monitor account health, increase performance, and identify upsell opportunities.
    • Guide others in using CRM and reporting tools, sharing best practices for product and tactic improvement.
  • Education and Advocacy:
    • Articulate Microsoft’s strategy and educate clients on the Microsoft Advertising platform.
    • Share knowledge of the search landscape to create mutually beneficial business value propositions.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 2+ years of relevant work experience (e.g., sales, advertising, or marketing with a focus on digital advertising), OR
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 4+ years of relevant work experience, OR
    • 6+ years of relevant work experience (e.g., sales, advertising, or marketing with a focus on digital advertising), OR equivalent experience.
  • Preferred:
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 4+ years of relevant work experience, OR
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 5+ years of relevant work experience, OR
    • 8+ years of relevant work experience (e.g., sales, advertising, or marketing with a focus on digital advertising), OR equivalent experience.
    • Paid Search/SEM experience and platform knowledge, with hands-on experience across large-scale search programs.
    • Data analysis skills, including interpreting large volumes of data to identify optimizations and growth opportunities.
    • Proficiency in Excel, with experience in Power BI or similar large-scale reporting tools.
    • Interest in learning new tools, workflow automation, and AI-driven transformation.
    • Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize effectively for impact.
    • Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes and resolve complex challenges.
    • Travel industry search marketing experience.

Schedule

Starting January 26, 2026, employees who live within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or a 25-mile commute of a non-U.S. office are expected to work from the office three days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

Pay

  • Typical base pay range across the U.S.: USD $86,100 – $169,800 per year.
  • Base pay range for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area: USD $113,300 – $187,400 per year.
