Job Summary

The Advanced Technology Institute Coordinator is a part-time, temporary grant-funded position that reports directly to the Dean of Career and Industry Programs. The Coordinator develops and coordinates internship and work-based learning opportunities for students in Advanced Technologies programs, serving as the primary liaison between the College, students, and industry partners to support student success and workforce readiness.

Essential Job Functions

  • Internship and Work-Based Learning Coordination (45%): Assist in developing, coordinating, and overseeing internship and work-based learning opportunities for students enrolled in Advanced Technologies programs. Match students with career-aligned placements and serve as the primary liaison among students, faculty, and employer partners throughout the internship experience. Monitor student progress and provide ongoing support to promote successful completion of work-based learning experiences.
  • Business and Community Partnerships (30%): Establish and maintain partnerships with local Career & Technical Education (CTE) high school programs, regional employers, industry leaders, and workforce agencies. Develop and maintain internship and work-based learning partnerships with employers that support Advanced Technologies programs. Communicate regularly with employer partners and conduct site visits, as needed, to support student success and strengthen partnerships.
  • Program Support and Reporting (20%): Maintain accurate records and documentation for student placements, employer partnerships, and program activities. Collect and report data to support grant requirements, program evaluation, and continuous improvement. Ensure activities comply with institutional and grant requirements and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Non-Essential Functions (5%): Meet standards now required or which may be required by the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC). Achieve additional skill, knowledge, or credential levels. Attend all college functions as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

EQUIPMENT

Work activities regularly involve the use of standard office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, scanners, telephones, and related devices to perform tasks including data entry, document preparation, email communication, and report generation.

Knowledge, Skills And Responsibilities

  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including public speaking (when/if applicable).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with various software packages including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, flexibility, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, employer partners, Career and Technical Education (CTE) high school partners, and members of the public.

Job Standards/Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution OR Certificate of Completion in any of the following: Business Management, Office Administration, Human Resources, Project Management, Administrative Professionals.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in any combination of: Office administration (e.g., Records management, data entry/management, meeting coordination, file management, etc.), Human resources (e.g., Talent acquisition, payroll, onboarding, leave administration, etc.), Project management (e.g., Implementation, budgeting, workflow management, etc.).

Job Location

This is an on-site position based in the Advanced Technologies Building on the main campus of Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tennessee. The role may also involve travel within the college’s five-county service area and occasional travel throughout the state and nationally for meetings, conferences, and professional events. Travel across the service region for meetings and other activities may also be expected.
