About the role

We are seeking an Advanced Systems Admin Specialist for the Information Technology - Limited Access Area (LAA) Team as part of Engineering Support Services. In this role, you will support multiple Communities of Interests by administering and maintaining secure infrastructures, both physical and virtual. You will design, develop, build, and test new system infrastructure solutions as part of a collaborative team while serving as a front-line interface to users for technical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day administration and maintenance of multiple secure infrastructures, both physical and virtual.
  • Design, develop, build, and test new system infrastructure solutions.
  • Serve as a front-line interface to users by addressing technical issues, conducting systems analysis, and ensuring systems remain current with evolving technologies.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning and system remediation.
  • Perform OS and vendor software patching on servers and network devices, and update antivirus software to maintain security and compliance.
  • Monitor system performance, manage backups, ensure system availability, and implement security measures.
  • Implement Linux/Windows security controls to maintain system compliance (STIGs, CIS Benchmarks).
  • Research and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Work within the requirements of a change management system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Equivalent relevant experience and certifications may also be considered.
  • Advanced knowledge of RedHat Linux, Windows Server, VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, and/or application environments and related technologies.
  • Ability to architect, deploy, and continuously maintain secure, reliable, and flexible best-practice infrastructures and systems.
  • Experience with implementing Linux/Windows security controls (STIGs, CIS Benchmarks).
  • Subject Matter Expertise in researching and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
  • Familiarity with compliance controls: STIGs/CIS Benchmarks, NIST SP 800-171/800-53, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), System Security Plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts.
  • In-depth knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Highly proficient problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Department of Defense Secret clearance required at time of hire; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must meet DoD 8570.1 certification requirements for IAT-II or higher; CompTIA Security+ certification must be completed within 6 months of hire.

Skills

  • Familiarity with developer tools/concepts/scripting/methodologies: JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, Docker, Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Bash.
  • Familiarity with Tenable Nessus, Splunk, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), and Endpoint Security Solution (ESS).
  • Ability to engineer systems with security as the top priority.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and adopt new technologies while continuously developing yourself.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail and motivational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills from multiple viewpoints.
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Pay

Target salary range: USD $111,881.00/Yr. - USD $121,059.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (e.g., geographic location).

This position is on-site at our McLeansville, NC location.
