Advanced Practice Provider Pediatric Emergency Medicine
About the role
We seek a skilled clinician who thrives in a fast-paced setting and provides compassionate, evidence-based care to diverse pediatric patients. When you join us, you’ll become a part of a nationally recognized health system dedicated to our mission of “helping people live the healthiest lives possible.” Our APPs—certified nurse practitioners or physician assistants—provide high-quality, team-based emergency care at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City and the Miller Campus in Lehi, Utah.

- Treatment: Develop and implement care plans and prescribe medications for acute pediatric illnesses and injuries.
- Procedures: Perform pediatric emergency procedures, including suturing, foreign body removal, and abscess drainage.
- Interdisciplinary Care: Practice at the top of license under attending physician direction, caring for neonates through adolescents across all acuities—from triage to trauma, observation, and resuscitation. Collaborate with pediatric emergency physicians, pediatricians, nurses, respiratory therapists, child life specialists, and social workers.
- Care Coordination: Ensure consistent care across both campuses; serve as a primary contact for patient education, test results, admissions, and discharge guidance.
- ED Throughput: Coordinate timely evaluation, treatment, and disposition to reduce wait times and length of stay.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality assurance, peer and morbidity/mortality (QuIPS) reviews, and clinical guideline development.
