Position Summary
Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin (F&MCW) seeks an experienced NP or PA to serve as APP Manager – Transplant Surgery. This role provides clinical, operational, and strategic leadership for APPs across inpatient transplant services, the Transplant ICU (TICU), consult teams, and ambulatory clinics. The manager works within a triad leadership model to support clinical excellence, program growth, workforce development, and patient safety across multi-organ transplant programs, including liver, kidney, and pancreas. The position includes ongoing clinical practice with high-acuity transplant patients.
Position Highlights
- Lead and develop a high-performing APP team in a nationally recognized transplant program.
- Provide care in high-acuity settings including TICU and multidisciplinary teams.
- Oversee APP recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance.
- Foster engagement, retention, and professional growth.
- Mentor APPs in transplant-specific competencies.
- Collaborate with transplant surgeons, physicians, intensivists, and APPs across adult and pediatric programs.
- Support quality, operational efficiency, and program expansion.
- Participate in education, research, and quality improvement.
Qualifications
- Preferred Experience: Minimum 3 years of APP experience. Strong preference for transplant, critical care, or surgical inpatient experience.
- Minimum Requirements:
- Advanced Practice Nurse: Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
- Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
- Advanced Practice Nurse/Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner: Wisconsin RN License, Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License.
- Certification Requirements: American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
- Will consider FNP or adult care with 2 or more years' experience on Inpatient service or ICU.
