Advanced Practice Provider, Neonatology
About the role
The Section of Neonatology at the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) is seeking a per diem Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join a team of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Neonatologists. The Neonatal APPs staff a 30-bed Level III Intensive Care Nursery in Lebanon, NH.
The Intensive Care Nursery is a full-service Level III nursery (without corrective cardiac surgery or ECMO) that participates in a pediatric residency and neonatology fellowship training program, as well as a maternal-fetal medicine program serving as the statewide referral center. Both the Intensive Care Nursery and Special Care Nursery are active members of the Vermont-Oxford Network.
The ideal candidate will provide expert care across the spectrum of neonatal illnesses—from acute/critical to intermediate and chronic care—while embracing family-centered care principles.
Responsibilities
- Primary care of a caseload of neonatal patients
- Attendance at high-risk deliveries
- Team leadership in neonatal resuscitations
- Team leadership for critically ill neonatal transports
The position reports to the Director of Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers and the Section Chief of Neonatology.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA academic program
- National specialty certification as an Acute Care ANP, Acute Care PNP, or NNP; or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Eligible for RN licensure in the State of NH (APRNs only)
- Eligible for APRN or PA licensure in the State of NH
- Eligible for Federal DEA Registration
- BLS certification
- ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP as appropriate
