Job Overview
The Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider provides health care to neonates, infants, and children up to one year of age. This role emphasizes family-centered, culturally diverse, and sensitive care. The APP collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to offer a continuum of primary, acute, and/or subspecialty healthcare.
General Requirements
- CDS and DEAC
- Certified NRP and BLS certification
- APN Specific Requirements: APN License, RN License, One of the following certifications (NNP, Primary Care Pediatric NP, Acute Care Pediatric NP), PA Specific Requirements: PA License, PICU or NICU experience, New grad PAs require intensive NICU fellowship, NCCPA
Essential Functions
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions under the supervision of a physician.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Perform procedures as necessary.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health education.
- Stay current with medical best practices, guidelines, and regulations.
- Engage in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Participate in research or quality improvement projects as directed or needed.
