About the role

Nurse Practitioners at the Indian Health Service (IHS) are dedicated professionals who provide comprehensive healthcare services to American Indian and Alaska Native communities. Responsibilities

  • Provide primary and specialty healthcare services to patients in remote and rural settings.
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries, including preventive care and chronic disease management.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify potential health issues early.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments based on clinical judgment and evidence-based practices.
  • Engage in community health programs and outreach initiatives to promote wellness and preventable health issues.

Requirements

  • A current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in at least one state.
  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting serving diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or higher.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Experience in providing primary and specialty healthcare services.
  • Knowledge of cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse populations.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule
