About the Role
As an Advanced IR Special Procedures Technologist at Mercy, you will perform advanced imaging procedures, including fluoroscopy and interventional radiology, assisting in diagnosing and treating patients. This role involves operating specialized equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and providing critical support during complex medical procedures. You will also serve as a resource, superuser, and assist in training, demonstrating a strong commitment to patient care and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Operate specialized imaging equipment for advanced procedures such as fluoroscopy and interventional radiology.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during diagnostic and treatment procedures.
- Provide critical support during complex medical procedures.
- Serve as a resource and superuser for imaging technology and procedures.
- Assist in training other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and providing emotional support.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program with completed required clinical hours or completion of RCIS training certification.
- 2 years of relevant experience.
- Certification: ARRT (R) or RCIS.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in operating imaging equipment and using imaging software to acquire high-quality diagnostic images.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
