About the role

The AdventHealth Transplant Institute is seeking a dynamic, fellowship-trained advanced heart failure transplant cardiologist to join the heart program in Celebration Florida. The cardiologist would work in an exciting and thriving transplant program with the full AdventHealth healthcare system support.

Responsibilities

• Work in an exciting and thriving transplant program with the full AdventHealth healthcare system support (50 hospitals in nine states including 30 in Florida).
• Work with a comprehensive team including surgeons, cardiologists, coordinators, dieticians, pharmacists, therapists and social workers.
• Perform right and left heart catheterizations and biopsies.
• Interact with a vibrant and growing Mechanical Circulatory Support Device program as well as a fully developed ECMO program.
• Perform 40-45 hearts and 30-50 mechanical circulatory support devices per year with multi organ transplant capability.
• Participate in a robust cardiogenic shock program with over 250 temporary mechanical circulatory devices implanted per year and state of the art 9900 shock unit.

Requirements

• Fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant.
• Board certification in Cardiovascular Disease and in Advanced Heart Failure.
• Interest in inpatient and outpatient Interventional training not required but accepted.

Practice Setting

The AdventHealth Transplant Institute is at AdventHealth Orlando, just north of downtown Orlando. Liver, Kidney and Pancreas transplants are already performed, and the Heart and Lung program started in 2012. The office site is steps away from the hospital in an adjacent medical office building.
