About the role

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a fellowship trained, board certified/board eligible, Advanced Heart Failure Transplant Cardiologist for their Advanced Heart Failure Transplant team in the Greater Austin Region.

Responsibilities

  • Join a team of 9 advanced heart failure specialists serving the advanced heart disease, replacement and recovery program at BSWH for Central Texas and Greater Austin.
  • Support interdisciplinary programs as part of an integrated-based approach including robust structural, surgical, and multimodality imaging team members.
  • Expand advanced heart failure services for BSWH in the Greater Austin Region, focusing on inpatient and outpatient services in Lakeway and Round Rock hospitals.
  • Predominantly provide inpatient and outpatient heart failure and transplant consultation service.
  • Perform inpatient and outpatient services, including coverage for Transplant, inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Provide coverage for Transplant, inpatient and outpatient services with predominant time in Round Rock with outreach to Lakeway 1 or 2 days a week.
  • Expected call schedule includes 1:4 in Round Rock location (Recovery program) and 6 weeks a year in Temple location (VAD/HTx program).
  • Work with dedicated HF nurses and APPs once a week with plans for expansion.
  • Opportunity to perform Cath lab procedures (right heart catheterization, implantable pulmonary artery monitors) and read ECHO for VAD and Heart Transplant.

Qualifications

  • Must be UNOS qualified for the care of patients with cardiac transplants.
  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board.
  • Must be actively pursuing board certification as defined by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists.
  • Must have a Doctorate Degree in Medicine.
