About the role

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a fellowship trained, board certified/board eligible, Advanced Heart Failure Transplant Cardiologist for their Advanced Heart Failure Transplant team in the Greater Austin Region.

Responsibilities

  • Join a team of 9 advanced heart failure specialists serving the advanced heart disease, replacement and recovery program at BSWH for Central Texas and Greater Austin.
  • Support interdisciplinary programs as part of an integrated-based approach including robust structural, surgical, and multimodality imaging team members.
  • Expand advanced heart failure services for BSWH in the Greater Austin Region, focusing on inpatient and outpatient services in Lakeway and Round Rock hospitals.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient heart failure and transplant consultation services.
  • Perform cath lab procedures (right heart catheterization, implantable pulmonary artery monitors) and read ECHO for VAD and Heart Transplant.
  • Expected call 1:4 in Round Rock location (Recovery program) and 6 weeks a year in Temple location (VAD/HTx program).

Qualifications

  • Must be UNOS qualified for the care of patients with cardiac transplants.
  • Prioritize education and research.
  • Provide coverage for Transplant, inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Predominantly work in Round Rock with occasional outreach to Lakeway (1 or 2 days a week).
  • Expected call schedule: 1:4 in Round Rock location (Recovery program) and 6 weeks a year in Temple location (VAD/HTx program).
  • Dedicated HF nurses and APP once a week with plans for expansion.
