About the role
Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a fellowship trained, board certified/board eligible, Advanced Heart Failure Transplant Cardiologist for their Advanced Heart Failure Transplant team in the Greater Austin Region.
Responsibilities
- Join a team of 9 advanced heart failure specialists serving the advanced heart disease, replacement and recovery program at BSWH for Central Texas and Greater Austin.
- Support interdisciplinary programs as part of an integrated-based approach including robust structural, surgical, and multimodality imaging team members.
- Expand advanced heart failure services for BSWH in the Greater Austin Region, focusing on inpatient and outpatient services in Lakeway and Round Rock hospitals.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient heart failure and transplant consultation services.
- Perform cath lab procedures (right heart catheterization, implantable pulmonary artery monitors) and read ECHO for VAD and Heart Transplant.
- Expected call 1:4 in Round Rock location (Recovery program) and 6 weeks a year in Temple location (VAD/HTx program).
Qualifications
- Must be UNOS qualified for the care of patients with cardiac transplants.
- Prioritize education and research.
- Provide coverage for Transplant, inpatient and outpatient services.
- Predominantly work in Round Rock with occasional outreach to Lakeway (1 or 2 days a week).
- Expected call schedule: 1:4 in Round Rock location (Recovery program) and 6 weeks a year in Temple location (VAD/HTx program).
- Dedicated HF nurses and APP once a week with plans for expansion.
