Advanced Computer & Electrical Engineer
About the Role
The NNL electrical community maintains a suite of various laboratories that are used to qualify Reactor Plant Instrumentation and Control (RPI&C) software and hardware, enable swift response to design project fleet support activities, and to support crew familiarization with RPI&C systems. The Bettis Shipboard Electrical Systems (SES) RPI&C infrastructure team is responsible for maintaining and modernizing the RPI&C test system infrastructure at Bettis site in addition to pursuing innovative test system solutions for current and future applications. The Bettis Infrastructure Development (BID) unit is looking for an experienced advanced level electrical hardware engineer in pursuit of the mission described above.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and modernize RPI&C test system infrastructure at Bettis site
- Pursue innovative test system solutions for current and future applications
- Maintain qualifications as an electrical worker and a lock out tag out authorized employee (required after selection)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or
- Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field; or
- Currently an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company
- DOE Q clearance is required for this position. The selected candidate will need to have or obtain a DOE Q clearance
Preferred Skills
- Experience with NR Program RPI&C work
- Experience or interest in designing printed circuit boards, electrical cabinets, electrical noise filters, and integrating the designed hardware into larger electrical systems
- Experience or interest in learning electrical safety and authoring engineered work packages for electrical work

Pay
$86,100.00 - $134,600.00 annually. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
