About the Job
The Advanced AVL Technician works on-site at Summit Integrated project sites, following industry standards and project plans. The technician takes direction from the Project Foreman and Lead Technicians to execute installation tasks across AVL system projects. The Advanced AVL Technician has proficiency in advanced installation areas such as wire pulling, terminations, rigging, and field installation, and works with minimal supervision. All members of the Summit Install Team are focused on delivering project outcomes efficiently, adhering to Summit’s values and meeting customer requirements.

Responsibilities
- Pays attention to details and follows best practices to ensure quality work according to Summit Standards and Industry Best Practices.
- Seeks feedback from team members to continuously improve skills and work quality.
- Uses tools and methods to make tasks easier and more efficient, and collaborates with team to refine processes.
- Builds and maintains fundamental, intermediate, and advanced skillsets as outlined in the Technician Matrix, focusing on advanced levels.
- Participates in the Summit CERTIFIED program to enhance craftsmanship and technical abilities.
- Trains and develops junior technicians, providing first-level quality control assessments of their work.
- Assists in project preparation, attends meetings, and engages in various company-wide events and trainings.
- Maintains active login credentials for company tools, stays updated on schedules, and submits expense reports, hours, and PTO/RTO requests in a timely manner.
- Assists with events, shop assembly, and custom fabrication as needed.

Job Requirements
- Hours are variable, and will frequently be required to work overtime while on-site, followed by periods of unpaid time off. Hours generally average annually to 1 full-time employee.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- OSHA-10 Certification, Aerial Scissor, Boom and Forklift Certifications. Current DOT physical and Safety Certifications (may be provided by Summit).
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience in AVL system installation or a similar technical field, covering areas like wiring, terminations, rigging, and field installations. Proficiency in using tools and equipment commonly found in AVL installations. Familiarity with industry standards including safety protocols and regulations relevant to AVL system installation.

- The ability to understand and solve problems, multitask numerous activities/projects, and handle unexpected situations with calm and good judgment.
- Adhere to routine verbal and/or written instructions.
- Work under deadlines with speed and accuracy.
Working Conditions
- Occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds to shoulder height and overhead.
- Occasionally push, pull, or move up to 90 pounds on carts, and carry or move up to 50 pounds over short distances.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, or move for 8+ hours, including bending, twisting, reaching (forward and above the head), crouching, squatting, stooping, and kneeling.
- Ability to climb and work at heights of 6+ feet, including the use of ladders or steps.

$20.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience
Additional Earnings Opportunities
- Extensive overtime opportunities during travel deployments.
- Daily travel per diem (approximately $13,000 annually for many full-time employees).

Due to the travel schedule and overtime opportunities associated with this role, employees typically earn substantially more than their base hourly rate. Total annual compensation varies based on experience, travel participation, and hours worked.
