Avionics Technician - ATL

About the role

The Avionics Technician performs maintenance of aircraft to ensure functionality of electronic and electrical systems. Responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance of the aircraft electronic and electrical systems. Component level/bench technicians are responsible for the maintenance and preventative maintenance of all LRUs as determined by their repair capabilities list. Technicians also support the flight line and hangar as required. All maintenance is performed IAW established procedures and the Federal Aviation Regulations. Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) as may be assigned from time to time.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on aircraft electronic and electrical systems
• Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on all LRUs as determined by repair capabilities list
• Support the flight line and hangar as required
• Perform additional assigned functions as needed
• Adhere to established procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Valid Airframe and Power Plant mechanics license or eligibility to apply for and receive a repairman certificate
• FCC license preferred
• 1 year experience working as an Avionics Technician OR successful completion of an accredited Avionics school/program (Military training/experience is acceptable)
• Professional work experience in aviation mechanics preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail
• Strong work ethic, reliable, self-motivated with a positive attitude, and very customer service oriented
• Ability to travel internationally; passport required within 3 months of hire (expenses paid by employee)
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Valid driver's license; must be insurable under company insurance coverage if position requires use of company vehicle(s)
• Ability to use ladders, work stands, lifts, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
• Ability to lift, carry, or move aircraft components weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Work is performed at airports/outstations and various repair and material vendors
• Safety shoes required (cost covered by employee)
• Required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary
• Some travel required

Hourly USD $34.00/Hr. - USD $42.20/Hr.
