Advance Practice Provider FT Day TRMC Cardiac

About the Role

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an independent healthcare provider who coordinates care through collaboration with the attending Physician. The PA or APN provides care in accordance with the objectives, policies, and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee. The main function of this role is to provide consistent, high-quality perioperative/postoperative care for all surgery patients. The APP will function as an active member of the Surgical and Cardiovascular team.

Responsibilities

• Surgical first assisting
• Perioperative/postoperative management for surgical and cardiac catheterization patients
• Hospital rounds on inpatients and emergency room consultations
• Outpatient diagnostics (e.g., Stress Test) and medical decision-making/management of Surgical and Cardiovascular patients
• Perform history and physical examinations in preparation for surgical and cardiovascular procedures
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory, radiologic, and special diagnostic tests
• See emergent consults in the ED and treat conditions within the scope of the APP’s practice and experience
• Communicate complicated surgical/cardiovascular emergencies and prepare for surgery/cardiovascular intervention
• Assist with inpatient daily rounds, including insertion/discontinuation of central lines (e.g., chest tubes, arterial lines), wound dressing changes, bedside procedures, insertion of temporary dialysis catheters, daily physical exams, midline catheters, and addressing patient concerns
• Assist with and perform diagnostic testing (e.g., Stress Test)
• Thoroughly explain procedures to patients prior to testing
• Interpret laboratory/diagnostic testing results
• Discharge patients in collaboration with the attending physician
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication, and time management
• Perform duties independently and coordinate care with bedside nurses, attending physicians, and consulting providers
• Compassionately interact with patients across different areas of care

Qualifications

Required (APN/NP):

• Current APN Certification
• Current RN NJ state license
• CDS and DEA certification
• Current BLS/ACLS
• RNFA Certification (*exception if Surgical NP certification includes surgical assist)

Required (Physician Assistant):

• Current Physician Assistant Certification
• CDS and DEA certification
• Current BLS/ACLS

Preferred:

• Acute care certification
• 3-5 years of acute care hospital experience

Pay

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $125,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (primary schedule)
• Evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed (per diem)
