Job Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an independent health care provider who coordinates care through collaboration with the attending Physician.

Responsibilities

  • Perioperative/postoperative management for cardiac catheterization patients
  • Hospital rounds on inpatients
  • Emergency room consultations
  • Outpatient diagnostics (Stress Test)
  • Medical decision making/management of Cardiovascular patients
  • Perform history and physical/consult examinations in preparation for cardiovascular procedures
  • Order appropriate laboratory, radiologic and special diagnostic tests and interpret and report to surgical and cardiovascular teams
  • Communicate complicated cardiovascular emergencies and prepare for cardiovascular intervention
  • Aid in inpatient daily rounds as assigned
  • Assist with and perform diagnostic testing (Stress Test)
  • Thoroughly explain procedures to patients prior to testing
  • Perform appropriate interpretation of laboratory/diagnostic testing
  • Discharge patients in collaboration with the attending
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, communicate effectively and demonstrate time management
  • Coordinate care with the bedside nurse, attending physician, and other consulting providers
  • Compassionately interact with patients across different areas of care

Qualifications

  • Current APN Certification
  • Certified Registered Nurse (RN) NJ state license
  • Certified Diagnostic Sonographer (CDS) DEAC
  • BLS/ACLS
  • Required (Physician Assistant): Current Physician Assistant Certification
  • Certified Diagnostic Sonographer (CDS) DEAC
  • BLS/ACLS
  • Preferred: Acute care certification

Scheduling Requirements

Scheduled as needed (Days, Weekends, Holidays) Part Time
