About the role
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider for the Neurosurgery department at the New Brunswick campus. This role includes rounding, evaluation, and providing care plans as developed with attending neurosurgeons. The position involves invasive bedside procedures and requires working to the full extent of licensure.
Responsibilities
- Perform rounding, evaluation, and develop care plans in collaboration with attending neurosurgeons.
- Conduct invasive bedside procedures.
- Work to the full extent of licensure, including variable rotations covering days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Current NJ APN or PA license.
- NCCPA certification (for Physician Assistants).
- Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) registration.
- DEA registration.
- RN license (required for Nurse Practitioners).
- RNFA certification (required for NPs to work in the operating room).
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Stroke education hours.
Qualifications
- Advanced Practice Nurses must be certified in Family Practice due to the pediatric population served.
- Physician Assistants must be a graduate from an accredited PA program.
- Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of inpatient or acute patient care experience in neurosurgery with a desire for acute inpatient work.
- New graduate APPs will be considered if they are FNP certified with acute care experience, particularly due to the pediatric population on the service.

Pay
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $125,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
