About the Role

RWJBH is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider Lead for the Neurosurgery APP service line. This role will have responsibilities in all areas of neurosurgery including the ICU, floor, and operating room. The position is 80% clinical and 20% administrative, with an emphasis on growing the service line and supporting operational initiatives of the neurosciences division. Clinical work will include supporting all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work with the leadership team to help manage day-to-day operations of the neurosurgery service.
• Provide administrative support and oversight for training new staff in all areas, including education on bedside invasive procedures (e.g., EVD placement).
• Support new staff and foster leadership growth within the team.
• Work collaboratively with other lead APPs to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Family NP program with demonstrated experience in acute inpatient hospital care, or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Graduate of RNFA program with demonstrated skill in neurosurgery (required if working in the operating room).
• 3–7 years of demonstrated high-functioning neurosurgery experience at a large academic center (preferred).
• Demonstrated leadership experience (preferred).
• Experience working at the top of license with autonomy in all clinical areas (required).

Qualifications

• Current NJ APN/PA license.
• NCCPA certification (required for PAs).
• CDS and DEA certification.
• RN license (required).
• RNFA certification (required if working in the operating room).
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Stroke education hours.

Pay

$125,000.00 – $195,000.00 per year. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
