Adult Radiographer (Days, 3x12hr shifts)

Responsibilities

• Performs routine Diagnostic X-Ray examinations using fixed and/or portable equipment in accordance with established protocols, safety guidelines and quality standards.
• Ensures testing is performed safely and with the highest quality standards, maintaining a consistent focus on patient-centric care.
• Aids in basic fluoroscopic procedures when required.
• Prepares patients for procedures and reviews clinical history to align with provider-ordered tests.
• Safely administers contrast per protocol and identifies, manages, and escalates contrast reactions and changes in patient condition.
• Responds to inquiries from patients and family members, providing clear information regarding diagnostic testing and expected result timelines.
• Collaborates with team members across OU Health including Providers to provide exceptional patient care.
• Conducts post-testing quality reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed, documented and align with departmental and accreditation standards.
• Accurately documents in EMR/PACS per organizational policies and procedures.
• Transfers images and data to the appropriate electronic health system, enters technical data/findings and prepares study for reporting by physician.
• Performs quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting and other equipment maintenance tasks per manufacturer instructions for use and other regulatory guidelines.
• Ensures that technical quality of testing meets established protocols and applicable accreditation standards.
• Assists with quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as requested.
• May support OU Health's academic partnerships by actively engaging in teaching of students in the radiologic program.
• May serve as a departmental preceptor to provide instruction and mentorship to new or less experienced team members.
• Aids in onboarding of new team members.
• May provide on-call clinical coverage outside regularly scheduled duty hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited imaging/radiology program as defined by ARRT or Completion of JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program is accepted in lieu of other educational requirements.
• Experience: 0-3 years experience for Level 1, 3-5 years experience for Level 2, 5 or more years of experience for Level 3.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) and ARRT(RT)(R) required at hire.
