Adult Probation Officer
About the role
The Probation Office is seeking a full-time Adult Probation Officer.
Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and develop individualized supervision plans
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of probationers
- Provide educational and vocational services to probationers
- Ensure compliance with court orders and regulations
- Engage in community outreach and prevention programs
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice preferred
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license
- Pre-employment drug screen
- Computer skills test
- Criminal background check
- Physical and psychological evaluation
- Qualify and carry a department issued firearm while on duty
Qualifications
Desired qualifications include:
- Experience in law enforcement or social work
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of state and federal laws related to probation and parole
Skills
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Pay
Starting Salary: $41,981 (Grade J)
Salary increases: $3,000 after one year of employment and $2,000 after two years of employment if appropriate firearms training is completed.
Schedule
Full-time position with flexible hours to meet the needs of the community.
