Adopt-a-Troop Volunteer

Girl Scouts of the USA · Charlotte, NC · 3 wk ago
OTHRVolunteer

Description

Not every volunteer role means leading meetings. Sometimes the most meaningful support happens behind the scenes.

  • Provide snacks for meetings
  • Donate or collect materials for a STEM project or art activity
  • Secure outdoor gear or books
  • Sponsor a troop experience
  • Serve as a caring adult mentor and cheerleader for troop leaders and girls

About the role

This role is especially helpful for troops in communities with fewer resources, and it can make a real difference in what girls are able to experience. Whether you’re an individual, family, friend group, employee resource group, or business looking for a meaningful way to give back, Adopt-a-Troop is a practical and personal way to support girls close to home.

Commitment details

- Flexible role that can be one-time, seasonal, or ongoing
- Support may be financial, in-kind, relational, or activity-based
- Commitment varies depending on the troop’s needs and your capacity
- Can often be done outside of standard troop meeting times
- Great option for adults, businesses, and community groups who want to support Girl Scouts in a tangible way

About GSHNC

Girl Scouts builds courage, confidence, and character in girls through hands-on experiences, supportive mentors, and opportunities to try new things. We’re looking for caring adults and community partners who want to help girls grow, learn, and lead—whether that means supporting a troop meeting, hosting a field trip, teaching a skill, helping at an event, or opening doors in the community. No previous Girl Scout experience is required—just a willingness to show up, encourage girls, and make a difference.
