Our purpose is to inspire people to learn from American traditions to help shape a better future. As a volunteer of The Henry Ford, you have the opportunity of helping to carry out this purpose to over one million guests annually. In addition to providing opportunities for self-development, volunteering allows us to contribute to our communities positively. We invite you to join us in teaching others to learn from tradition and make a difference in the world.

Opportunities

• Volunteering in Greenfield Village (carousel, Martha Mary Chapel, Edison Illuminating, Tin Type Studio, greeting guests, assisting the camp counselors)
• Volunteering inside The Henry Ford Museum of Innovation (assisting with hands-on activities, greeting guests, preparing crafts, volunteering at the Overland Touring Car, Combine, etc.)

Training

We will teach you everything you need to know! Whether you’ve been a longtime member or are new to the area, we will acquaint you with our history and operations through the same training our paid staff receive.
