Volunteers must comply with Las Cruces Public Schools' Board of Education policy GBJC. Complete packets are available online at www.lcps.net.
Volunteer Packet Contents
- Volunteer Information Sheet – complete, date, and sign
- Policy Review – read and sign off on LCPS policies: Volunteer Pledge; Drug Free Workplace; Child Abuse and Neglect; Sexual Harassment; Staff conduct with students; Staff personal safety and security; and internet use
- Background Check Procedure – instructions available on the bottom right of this page
Background Check Requirements
- State and Federal Background Checks required for all volunteers
- Only required once unless there is a break in volunteer service of one school year or longer (excluding summers)
- After submitting your application, contact Human Resources for assistance with registering for your background check
- Print your registration receipt and take it with you, along with a valid photo ID, to the address provided in your email
- Background reports are sent electronically to the Human Resources Office within 1 to 3 business days
