Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe, therapeutic milieu by maintaining an active presence, providing support, role modeling, coaching, supervision, and guidance.
  • Ensure that adequate staff ratios are maintained to meet the needs of all clients by appropriately filling in for shift(s) as needed.
  • Provide support to co-workers in all areas of residential care as needed.
  • Enforce rules, policies, and regulations of the therapeutic milieu.
  • Utilize and oversee the proper use of crisis de-escalation interventions and physical restraining interventions in accordance with agency policy.
  • Serve as a role model demonstrating appropriate skills of therapeutic behavior management.
  • Ensure that staff maintains a high standard of cleanliness and safety in the milieu.
  • Comply with emergency and crisis intervention procedures and implement them in a calm and expedient manner.

  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Current and valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience working with vulnerable at-risk youth.
    • Must have a High School diploma or two years of college.
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • 1+ year(s) experience working with at-risk youth in a residential setting.

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Requires sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, crawling, and stretching.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, copier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.
  • Supporting therapeutic physical restraints of youth ages 12-17 to ensure safety.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Requires some exposure to chemicals and solvents.
  • Must be able to establish priorities, work independently, and carry out decisions and tasks.
  • Must be able to handle and resolve problems and make effective decisions.
  • Must be able to remain patient with youth.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others in a professional manner.
  • Requires public contact and good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people, problem-solving, attention to detail, evaluating and assessing situations, analyzing and forecasting, and interpreting data.

Pay

$21.50 per hour (.50 increase after 6 months of employment). DailyPay available.

Schedule

  • Full-Time
  • Shift: Varies (includes days, evenings, and nights)
  • Weekends Required
