The Emergency Department Registration Representative works under the direct supervision of the E.D. Patient Registration supervisor. The Registration Representative is responsible for interviewing the patient or his/her designee to obtain information pertinent to registration or admission to the hospital. Upon completion of the medical screening exam (MSE), the Representative will obtain insurance information, process with insurance verification, and inform the patient of any financial obligations.

Requirements
- Customer service skills appropriate to the job.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Able to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
- Excellent typing and spelling skills.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
- Knowledge of the healthcare industry and insurance contracts.
Skills
- Basic computer skills.
