Admissions Specialist, Traditional Undergraduate (First-Year)

Position Description

The Admissions Specialist serves as a population-specific enrollment professional responsible for recruitment, outreach, advising, and application review for an assigned student segment. Distinct from a generalist Admissions Counselor, the Specialist develops deep expertise in a defined enrollment population, executes targeted recruitment strategies, and contributes meaningfully to institutional enrollment goals, yield strategy, and student success priorities.

This role operates in close coordination with the Dean of Enrollment Management and/or the Senior Director of Transfer and International Admissions and supports the Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing through disciplined funnel management, high-touch student engagement, and data-informed recruitment practices. The Admissions Specialist is a student-facing enrollment professional responsible for recruiting prospective students, advising families, supporting campus visit programming, and reviewing applications for an assigned territory or market.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required, master’s degree preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent writing, and public speaking abilities
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships in a competitive environment
• Enthusiastic personality, strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license and REAL ID as required for local and domestic travel
• Able to work weekends and evenings as needed
• Experience with SLATE and Banner is a plus
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
• Preference for candidates with prior experience in undergraduate admissions
