About the role

Serve as a liaison between the Graduate College and 15-20 academic departments. Provide excellent service to graduate students, faculty and graduate programs. Input applicant data accurately and timely into the university student information system. Evaluate transcripts/student application materials in an accurate, timely manner. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with graduate students, faculty and graduate program staff. Efficiently operate electronic devises necessary for application processing. Process program admission recommendations accurately and efficiently. Perform complex evaluations of domestic and international graduate student applications. Determine the authenticity of transcripts and validity of bachelor's or master's degrees. Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of all policies and procedures of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, OSU Graduate Faculty Council and the National Association for Foreign Student Affairs.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of all policies and procedures of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, OSU Graduate Faculty Council and the National Association for Foreign Student Affairs.
  • Independently and efficiently resolve and explain the most complex processes, decision-making and unusual cases to all constituents.
  • Eligible to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) who is able to process and sign International Admissions Certificates.
  • Develop special expertise in at least one area of applications processing such as residency decisions, immigration documentation, international financial records evaluations, standardized test score processing, use of student information system, or maintenance and vendor relations for application and application processing system platforms.
  • Serves as mentor and trainer for new Admissions Officers.

Requirements

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Admissions Specialist I: High School/GED and 4 years of experience.
  • Post secondary education may substitute for years of experience.
  • Admissions Specialist II: Bachelor's degree and one year of experience.
  • Senior Admissions Specialist: Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience
  • Complete Facilities Management Leadership Development Program within two years of hire.

Qualifications

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Bachelor's degree and one year of experience as a Senior Admissions Officer or at least three years applicable experience in an external student services type position.
  • One year of experience in university admissions or student services.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Exhibit a friendly, service-oriented manner with the ability to safeguard privacy and confidentiality regarding information accessible within the office.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Pay

$19.00 - $30.00 Hourly

Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., occasional overtime, twice yearly graduate commencement ceremonies.
