Admission Operations Specialist
About the role
The Admission Operations Specialist (AOS) is responsible for day-to-day processing of prospective student data and incoming communications, such as email, phone, and mail. They maintain data input best practices and quality/standards, provide exceptional customer service to students, families, and internal constituents, and learn/maintain expert knowledge in admission systems and tools.
Responsibilities
- Maintains expert knowledge of admission systems and tools, such as Microsoft Office products, and database tools, such as Technolutions Slate and PeopleSoft.
- Executes regular data audits and data entry efforts.
- Manages admission email accounts, phones, and mail, providing expert customer service to students and families.
- Connects students and families promptly and accurately to appropriate resources within the Enrollment Division and across campus.
- Develops an understanding of data elements, including interrelationships and dependencies, and processes/procedures to review, correct, extract, and merge data.
- Performs data cleansing and de-duplication of prospective student and applicant records.
- Collaborates with the admission operations team to identify and complete data-related projects.
- Maintains documentation for processes and procedures.
- Adheres to established guidelines and protocols for data integrity, best practices, and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Two or more years of experience in an office setting, including experience in data processing and telephone/email communication.
- Familiarity with higher education admission processes and procedures.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite (including Excel) and/or Google Workspace.
- Understanding or desire to learn how relational databases work.
- Flexibility and willingness to support other work in the office.
- Affinity for work that is both cyclical and repetitive.
- Desire to be an active, creative, collaborative contributor in a team environment, with an eye towards improving processes.
- Commitment to the philosophy and goals of a liberal arts education.
- Ability to respectfully work, communicate and provide leadership within a diverse campus community.
Pay and Benefits
Career Framework Information: Job Family: Enrollment Management Level: S2 Pay Grade: 2 The anticipated range for this position is $20.65 to $21.94 per hour. Decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.
