About the Role
Under the general direction of the California High-Speed Rail Authority’s (Authority) Regional Office Administrative Support Manager, the Supervisor I is responsible for supervising the Regional Office Administrative Support Unit and the staff who perform broad and varied administrative functions. Part-time telework is available for this position for California residents based on the requirements of the position and may be discussed during the interview process. Hiring interviews may be available virtually, using teleconferencing or video conferencing options.
The Supervisor I provides oversight for the following functions, which include but are not limited to:
- Fleet and vehicle management
- Maintenance program management
- Fleet Acquisition Plans
- Facilities management
- Project management of various contracted services
- Various health and safety program functions such as training and ergonomic evaluations
The incumbent will oversee the development of work standards, monitors the attainment of those standards, establishes consistent work processes, and ensures the development of a customer service-oriented office.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the Regional Office Administrative Support Unit and staff
- Provide oversight for fleet and vehicle management, maintenance program management, and Fleet Acquisition Plans
- Manage facilities and project management of various contracted services
- Oversee health and safety program functions, including training and ergonomic evaluations
- Develop work standards and monitor their attainment
- Establish consistent work processes
- Ensure the development of a customer service-oriented office
Skills
- Fleet management experience
- State of California procurement experience
- Customer service experience
- Experience reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting policies and procedures
- Facilities management experience
- Facilities Health and Safety experience
- Experience developing and implementing Facility Health and Safety guidelines and processes
- Ability to promote and be accountable for customer satisfaction and quality service
- Ability to utilize a variety of analytical techniques and methodologies to resolve complex governmental and managerial problems
- Ability to read and write clear and concise reports
- Ability to analyze data and present ideas and information effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks, be creative, highly motivated, and handle rapidly changing priorities
- Demonstrated ability to act independently, open-mindedness, flexibility, and tact

Location
The High-Speed Rail Authority headquarters building is located in downtown Sacramento on the corner of 8th and L Street. We are located one block away from the 8th and Capitol light rail stop, as well as the 7th and Capitol light rail stop. The building is also within walking distance of DOCO, the California State Capitol Park, a farmer’s market during summer months, and Old Sacramento.
