Responsibilities

  • Performing complex transcriptions and document structure for patient medical records.
  • Assigning diagnostic codes to transcribed documents.
  • Entering codes in system on a timely and consistent basis.
  • Proofreading complex documents for accuracy as established by licensing and accreditation agencies.
  • Interpreting procedures for medical staff as needed.
  • Drafting and compiling memorandums and reports of data and distributing to appropriate personnel and agencies.
  • Maintaining filing system and terminal digit filing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
  • Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
