Responsibilities
- Performing complex transcriptions and document structure for patient medical records.
- Assigning diagnostic codes to transcribed documents.
- Entering codes in system on a timely and consistent basis.
- Proofreading complex documents for accuracy as established by licensing and accreditation agencies.
- Interpreting procedures for medical staff as needed.
- Drafting and compiling memorandums and reports of data and distributing to appropriate personnel and agencies.
- Maintaining filing system and terminal digit filing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
- Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
- Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
