About the role

This position serves as an Administrative Specialist (GS-0341-9/11) responsible for coordinating and improving administrative programs across human resources, budget and finance, procurement, travel, records, facilities, training, security, telecommunications, and information resources.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administrative programs in areas such as human resources, budget and finance, procurement, travel, records, facilities, training, security, telecommunications, and information resources.
  • Evaluate administrative operations and supporting services to identify opportunities for improving organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor administrative actions and project requirements to ensure compliance with program guidance and established deadlines.
  • Analyze administrative data and operational trends to develop recommendations for improving processes and use of resources.
  • Provide technical guidance on administrative regulations, policies, procedures, and program requirements.
  • Prepare management reports and status information to support decisions and follow-up on administrative actions.
  • Coordinate with internal offices, other government organizations, and vendors to address administrative requirements and operational issues.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check, including a drug screening.
  • May be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
  • Selective Service registration is required for males born on or after December 31, 1959; those not registered must have an approved exemption on file.
  • Financial disclosure may be required in accordance with DOJ and Federal ethics guidelines.
  • Salary payments must be by direct deposit to a financial institution.

Qualifications

GS-09 Level

  • Specialized Experience: One year (52 weeks, full-time) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service (or comparable outside experience), performing three or more of the following:
    • Review administrative program information to identify procedural issues affecting office operations;
    • Track administrative requests or project actions through established processes to support timely completion;
    • Monitor procurement or property activities for compliance with established administrative procedures;
    • Coordinate administrative support with internal staff or external service providers to address routine operational needs.
  • Education: A master’s or equivalent graduate degree, or two full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master’s or equivalent graduate degree, or LL.B. or J.D. in a directly related field. Transcripts must be submitted for verification.
  • Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and specialized experience totaling 100% of the minimum qualifications, with only graduate education beyond one year (18 semester hours) eligible for combination. Transcripts must be submitted for verification.

GS-11 Level

  • Specialized Experience: One year (52 weeks, full-time) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (or comparable outside experience), performing three or more of the following:
    • Coordinate a designated administrative program to ensure actions meet established program requirements;
    • Analyze administrative operations to identify trends and recommend improvements in organizational efficiency;
    • Prepare administrative status reports to identify issues requiring management attention;
    • Apply administrative regulations and procedures to resolve program issues with limited supervisory guidance.
  • Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or LL.M. in a directly related field. Transcripts must be submitted for verification.
  • Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and specialized experience totaling 100% of the minimum qualifications, with only graduate education beyond two years (36 semester hours) eligible for combination. Transcripts must be submitted for verification.
